What is the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025?
Under the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025, candidates receive ₹500 per month for a maximum of two years. Furthermore, CBSE has divided this scholarship into two categories. The first category includes students who passed Class 10 in 2025 and are currently studying in Class 11. The second category includes students who received this scholarship last year in Class 10 and wish to reapply this year. Upon renewing the scholarship, they will continue to receive government assistance for the current semester.
Which students will benefit?
This CBSE scholarship is only for students who are single children. If you are eligible for this scholarship, you must visit the CBSE’s official website, cbse.gov.in, to apply.
What are the eligibility criteria for the scholarship?
- The student must have passed Class 10 from the CBSE board.
- The student must have scored at least 70% in Class 10.
- Additionally, the student must be currently enrolled in Class 11 or 12.
- Family income must not exceed ₹8 lakh (800,000 USD), and a notarized self-declaration must be uploaded at the time of application.
How to Apply?
- Go to the CBSE official website, www.cbse.gov.in, and click on ‘Single Girl Child Scholarship X-2025 REG’.
- Select ‘New’ or ‘Renewal’ depending on the application type on the SGC-X.
- Fill out the form carefully and upload all required documents, including income proof and the first quarter fee slip verified by the school principal.
- Submit the form.
Selection and Verification Process?
Only candidates who meet all the required educational and family income requirements will be selected for the new scholarship. For renewal, the girl student must have secured 70% or more marks in Class 11 and have been promoted to Class 12.
All applications must be verified by the schools where the students are currently enrolled. CBSE states that unverified applications will be rejected.
